A discussion on the future of the group will be the main topic of the meeting. The idea is to spread the load and at the same time make the scope of the meetings broader and appeal to interests of more of the members. We're looking for ideas and people to pursue them. If 10 people plan 1 meeting each they can get a speaker they would like to hear, share something themselves or just have a go at something new!
The original plan was to have a meeting utilising the skills and knowledge of members of the group. This is in keeping with the aims and objectives of the U3A generally. It is also timed to save money on speakers when lower attendances are expected because of the holiday period.
However, there have been no volunteers to contribute to the meeting. This just shows how important a discussion on how best to secure the future of the group is. So what so Des will lead the initial discussion. Please if you have any ideas for the latter part please let him know.
