Accessing someone’s emergency information on a phone can be crucial in urgent situations. Both iPhones and Android phones have built-in features to provide emergency info without unlocking the device. Hopefully this will never be needed but it's no good if the information isn't there.

On iPhone (iOS)

From the lock screen, tap Emergency (bottom left).

Then tap Medical ID (bottom left).

This displays the person’s emergency information like allergies, medical conditions, emergency contacts, blood type, etc., if they have set it up.

To set up Medical ID:

Open the Health app

Tap your profile picture

Select Medical ID

Tap Edit to add emergency info and contacts.

On Android Phones

From the lock screen, tap Emergency or Emergency Call.

Tap Emergency Information (this may vary by manufacturer and Android version).

The emergency info shows medical details and emergency contacts if configured.

To set up emergency info:

Go to Settings

Search for Emergency information or Emergency contacts

Add medical info and contacts.

Important Notes

This info is accessible without unlocking the phone to help first responders.

The person must have set up their emergency information in advance.

Respect privacy and use this feature only in genuine emergencies.

If you want, I can guide you through setting up emergency info on your device or provide details for a specific phone model.
