The group was reminded that an earlier meeting had decided to change the timing. That was to avoid the congestion of meetings in the last week of the month. The group was informed that rooms had been booked at the library for the third Friday of the month and all the dates where to be found in the events section.

The was some discussion about the format of meetings but it was decided to stick with outside speakers only. Several people came forward to organise this on a one by one basis. Some discussion on how people could go about this. There are further details about this in the events section. There was an agreement that this would need some coordination and Des agreed to do this using the WhatsApp group and email.

Some discussion about the number meetings. It was decided to scrap the August meeting and to use the July  meeting to review the changes. We would keep the quiz in November.

The group where told that it had lost £3.18 last year.  This is in fact a good thing because we're not supposed to make a profit.

Des then failed to explain clearly how much money people would have to organise a meeting. What follows is his attempt to clarify this.

We have £795.77 as an emergency fund. This is to cover six months expenditure if we were, for some reason, to have no income. This is based on £100 to cover both the room and the speaker. We will, of course, still be having the money taken on the door. (Which is where the £100 figure came from an estimate of how much we have been getting at a meeting). Anything more than that I would have to approach the branch for some of the money they hold on our behalf. I can think of no reason why I wouldn't do that. I'm sure somebody will come up with one!

In short budget for £50-60 for a speaker. If you need more give me a reason to take to the branch.

At some point I'll put a version of the presentation in the articles section.
